Čedok is the oldest brand of the Czech travel agency operating on the market continuously since 1920. The company Čedok (Czechoslovak Travel and Transport Office) used the abbreviation for the first time in 1926 and soon became a symbol of innovation and success.
In the 1920s, Čedok founded the tradition of traveling Czech tourists on the coast of Dalmatia. In the mid-1930s, he established a strong position on the domestic travel market as a reliable partner for foreign tourists traveling to the Czechoslovak Republic and provides exchange services including the sale of all types of tickets.
From nationalization in 1948 to 1989, Čedok was built as a state monopoly of tourism.
A fundamental turn in the history of the company occurred only at the end of 1995, when the majority owner of Čedok became Unimex Group. The new Čedok era began, characterized by a transformation into a modern, completely customer-oriented travel agency.
At the end of 2007, the majority shareholder changed to ODIEN Group, a strong investor from the United States. ODIEN won a 98% stake in Čedok from Unimex.
In August 2016 Čedok was transferred to Itaka, the largest travel agency in Poland, and one of the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. Itaka's plans as a strategic investor are notable - offering Czech customers unrivaled products at the best prices and developing the Čedok brand to customer satisfaction.
